This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs.The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS53939" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the 17Dec2018 (Revised 26Mar2020) Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Problem.

PROBLEM
Certain Caterpillar product may have a problem with the DEF injector 459-7216.
The internal seals within the DEF Injector may fail and allow DEF to leak into the injectors electrical connector housing. Once DEF enters the electrical housing and contacts the electrical pins a DEF Dosing current fault is triggered. This is usually accompanied by an external DEF leak being seen in and around the injectors electrical connector. DEF Dosing Unit/Actuator Diagnostic Trouble Codes (3361/3821) can be triggered which can lead to a system inducement.
