Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.Problem
There have been instances of DEF manifold return fittings being blocked due to incomplete drilling of the fitting. This issue affects 462-3219 DEF Manifold Gp, 462-3232 DEF Manifold Gp, and 462-3610 DEF Manifold Gp.The following event codes may become active due to this issue:
Table 1
J1939 Code and Description CDL Code and Description
4334-16
Aftertreatment #1 DEF #1 Pressure (absolute) : High - moderate severity (2) E930 (2)
High Aftertreatment #1 DEF Pressure
5392-31
Aftertreatment Diesel Exhaust Fluid Dosing Unit Loss of Prime E1370 (2)
Aftertreatment #1 DEF Dosing Unit Loss of Prime Solution
Do not operate or work on this product unless you have read and understood the instruction and warnings in the relevant Operation and Maintenance Manuals and relevant service literature. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Proper care is your responsibility.

View of the return fitting on the DEF manifold
(1) Example of a blocked return fitting
Inspect DEF manifold return fitting (1) for blockage due to incomplete drilling. Refer to Illustration 1.
If the manifold fitting is not drilled completely, record the part number and serial number of the manifold from the label.
Submit a Dealer Solutions Network (DSN) ticket for part return.
Replace the suspect manifold with a new part. Inspect the new part for a correctly drilled manifold before installation.
If the manifold fitting is drilled completely, install the manifold. Follow the correct troubleshooting procedure for any active diagnostic codes. Refer to Troubleshooting.
